MTI Cares is excited to announce a partnership with the Food 4 Thought Initiative
MTI Cares, the community outreach committee for Madison Teachers Inc., is partnering with the Food 4 Thought Initiative (Food4TI) for our 5th Annual Bowl-a-Thon (and Silent Auction).
Food 4 Thought Initiative aims to improve access to food and alleviate hunger among Madison area school students and their families. Food4TI currently supports food pantries at three Madison schools and is working to open a fourth. As education professionals we encounter this need in our schools every day and are excited to partner with Food4TI to help address this problem.
We are seeking sponsors for this event along with items for the silent auction. Start getting your team of 3-5 bowlers together. We are suggesting that each team raise a minimum of $20 per bowler.
Thanks to all of 2018 Bowl-A-Thon Lane Sponsors! Through the combined efforts of sponsors and participant donors, we were able to raise nearly $12,000 for the Food for Thought Initiative.
The Bowl-A-Thon and Silent Auction will take place on
Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 12-3 PM at Dream Lanes in Madison.
Team registration and bidding starts at 11:30!
Sign-up your team today!
Team Sign Up Form (Registration Closed)
We are no longer registering teams but you are welcome to join us at Dream Lanes for the Silent Auction. There may be lanes open if we have no shows but all lanes are currently reserved. Thank you for supporting MTI Cares and the Food for Thought Initiative.
Team Registration: We ask that teams consist of 3-5 bowlers. Each team should have a team captain. A team does not need to consist of MTI Members. MMSD Administrators, BOE Members and friends of MTI have sponsored teams in the past. Feel free to join us.
This will be a family friendly event. Each team will occupy one lane. Bowling fees are $9 per bowler and covers shoes and 3 games. We are asking that each bowler attempt to raise $20 from pledges (friends, family, co-workers, etc.).
Once again, we’re looking for sponsors and donations from local businesses and labor unions. If you know someone that would be willing to sponsor or want to sponsor this event, please see this link:

The MTI Cares Committee is also seeking volunteers to help out both prior to and on the day of the Bowl-A-Thon. If you’re interested in helping out, contact Jeff Knight (email@example.com / (608) 257-0491).
Thanks to generous contributions from local labor and business sponsors, participants, and countless donors, MTI Cares has raised over $45,000 for child centered non-profits in the past four years. Thanks to MTI and many important community donors, our last charity organization, Briarpatch, was able to open a shelter for homeless and unaccompanied teens on October 1, 2015. Last year, MTI Cares partnered with Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center, to raise both awareness and funding support for their work with children who are victims of abuse or witnesses to a crime.
Special thanks goes to the MTI Cares Committee who drives much of the fundraising and pushes to get things done!
You can find a list of our previous Bowl-A-Thon sponsors at this link (MTI Bowl-a-Thon Sponsors). Thanks MTI! You show time and time again through your tireless dedication to Madison’s children, that you care!
