MTI Cares is the community outreach committee of MTI. The committee consists of MTI Members and is developing ways to support organizations that help improve the lives of children and families served by the Madison Metropolitan School District. With the participation of caring and engaged membership, MTI believes that together, we can improve the qualify of life for students and families of the Madison Metropolitan School District who are struggling and need additional support.

MTI Cares began pursuing community actions and activities in August 2013 with a push for members to participate in the 100 Black Men of Madison’s Backpacks for Success Stuffing Party. In addition, during the 2013-14 School Year, MTI Cares:
- Hosted a booth at the 2013 Willy Street Fair,
- Raised over $11,000 for the Briarpatch Homeless Youth Shelter,
- Organized and co-sponsored a District wide food drive with Second Harvest Food Bank, and,
- Raised over $2,000 and sponsored a team in the Bike for Boys and Girls Club
